Places to see while visiting Derby

Places to see while visiting Derby

Do you want to visit a city of unparalleled scenic beauty because of its geographic location?  I won’t straight away reveal the name of this city but as a clue to its identity I will give a hint! It’s considered the birthplace of industrial revolution and is the foremost center of the British rail industry. Have you guessed which city in England I am referring to? That’s right it’s Derby. Located on the banks of River Derwent and having a population of 248,700 this city has something for everyone as they say. From history buffs who adore medieval architecture to those who love night life and can’t get enough of shopping, Derby has it all.

Personally I am an admirer of the rich cultural and historical heritage of England. The country is littered with magnificent architecture from the bygone era which thrills and fascinates me to no end. Derby is no exception to the rule as it has the majestic and serene St. Werburgh’s Chapel and Derby Cathedral. If that doesn’t satisfies any history buff’s appetite there’s always the UNESCO declared world heritage site of Derby Silk Mill. Finally there’s museum of Georgian life and historic costume at Pickford’s house.

For those who like to experience supernatural (reportedly) and add a little thrill and scare to their itinerary, the Derby catacombs are the perfect venue. Derby catacombs are a series of Victorian era tunnels that crisscross beneath the landmarks of the city such as marketplace and Guildhall. If you want to access these tunnels you’d have to go to a local pub aptly named Tiger pub. Rumors are that these tunnels are haunted by the ghost of Alice Wheeldon who was transported through these tunnels. Talk about wicked fun eh?
Unknown to mainstream media a recent development in Derby is the emergence of private practices offering various cosmetic procedures. The city is now receiving influx of tourist which are arriving specifically for the sake of having these cosmetic procedures. Foremost amongst these services is Botox treatment Derby which is a proven array of age defying cosmetic procedures. Fancy watching these aestheticians at work or booking an appointment for some procedure? The clinics are open to accommodate you.

In culmination I would like to state that Derby is a city which has a little something for everyone according to their preference and taste.
